It could be easy to forget that superstars are just regular individuals, despite their fame and fortune. Thus, they go through the same joys and sorrows, heartbreaks, shocks, and challenging times in life.
We would do well to bear that in mind the next time we find ourselves acting on flashy headlines or jumping on rumors that don’t have any proof. Celebrities experience rough periods from time to time, just like everyone else.
Do you not believe that we exist? Ed Sheeran is only one example; last year, while she was carrying their second child, she received a horrifying cancer diagnosis.
Despite being considered one of the most popular performers of his generation worldwide, Ed Sheeran has struggled with anxiety recently.
He reportedly started dating in 2015, and he has been wed since 2019 to Cherry Seaborn.
But last year, when Cherry found out she was pregnant with cancer, everything collapsed. Sheeran’s suffering was exacerbated by the death of his worst friend in the same month.
In an interview for his Disney+ documentary series Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All, Ed Sheeran clarified, saying, “My best friend Jamal passes away suddenly, and Cherry’s health was pretty terrible.”
“You guys inquired as to who would be interested in producing a documentary. Yes, I replied, “I should be in the studio, and we’ll play the gig.”
“That’s not what the documentary is.”
Then, the camera cuts to Sheeran, who is sobbing hysterically while riding in the back of a car.
Cherry, Sheeran’s wife, confessed in the same program that doctors discovered a tumor in her during the sixth month of her pregnancy.
“I was diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year,” she said. It made me think hard about how short our lives are. It made me wonder, “Well, what would people think of me if I died?” even though I would never consent to do anything of the sort. What is it you depart from?
She continued, “For Ed, the idea is that he wants to tell people, ‘I’m not just this music machine.’” I’m more than simply this machine that competes for first place. In addition to being a son, I am a friend. It was not until this year that I began to consider my mortality.
Cherry successfully gave birth to their second child, a boy, after experiencing months of anxiety. She underwent a successful procedure soon after to have the tumor in her arm removed.
When Ed Sheeran learned that his pregnant wife had a tumor, his worry must have been intolerable. Thank God, everything went smoothly.
