Jo Ann Ussery needed a new home for herself and her children in 1993 after their house in Mississippi was destroyed.
With little money, she couldn’t afford a suitable trailer, but her brother-in-law had a unique idea: living in an old Boeing 727 airplane.
Ussery bought the Boeing 727, including shipping, for only $2,000 and spent about $30,000 to turn it into her dream home.
She turned the 138-foot-long plane into a complete living space with three bedrooms, a living area, kitchen, laundry room, and a fancy master bathroom in the cockpit.
After living in her unique home for a few years, Ussery turned it into a museum to share it with the world.
Sadly, the plane was badly damaged during transportation, but her amazing transformation still shows her creativity and strength.
