Pauley Perrette revealed she’d suffered a stroke in 2021.
After dyeing her hair, fans initially spoke ill of her new looks, but by 2023, most seemed to have a change of heart.
Perrette left “NCIS” because of the behavior of a prominent co-star.
In September 2022, Pauley Perrette appeared in a social media video discussing a medical condition she faced on September 2, 2021. The actress revealed it was the first anniversary of the time she’d suffered a massive stroke.
The star shared how she’d had a hard time during that period, having lost family and friends that were beloved. Perrette called herself a survivor for overcoming her traumas and revealed how grateful and filled with faith she was.
The celebrity noted how she’d cheated death several times after battling food and hair dye allergies that could’ve been tragic. She’s also survived sexual assault, domestic violence, and an attack by a crazy homeless person who almost killed her. Perrette also felt gratitude for her rescue dogs and felt “good” being alive after two years of hardships.
Since leaving her most well-known role as forensic specialist Abby Sciuto on “NCIS,” her appearance has changed. The actress’s new look caused negative responses from fans, but some of them have since changed their hearts. Perrette showed off her rainbow-colored hair the year before speaking up about her stroke.
On November 10, 2021, Perrette uploaded several Twitter images of herself sporting a new and fresh look. In the photos, the star’s hair looked ruffled and wet, and she described herself as looking like a “rainbow” after dying her hair.
One troll said they weren’t apologetic about their comment before saying the actress’s hair was “ugly.” The person felt Perrette had “such a beautiful face,” and the new look made her “look cheap.” The commenter noted that Perrette’s look was a preserve for people who frequented their Walmart.
The critic shared how they loved colored hair but that the celebrity’s looked “ratty.” Another person disapproved of her look and said it looked “horrible,” while another thought it looked “awful.”
However, it seemed people had a change of heart after Perrette revealed having gone through a stroke and other life trials. On July 24, 2023, the celebrity shared several Instagram images, with the first showing her rocking her rainbow-colored hair.
Perrette claimed she is “terrified of Harmon” and the possibility that he’d attack her.
One person responded by encouraging her to “keep on being you” because she was “awesome.” Another fan, who called her “Aunt P,” thought the star looked “so beautiful” and declared their love for the actress, while someone else noted how she knew how to put smiles on people’s faces.
The fan felt that the rest of Perrette’s pictures showed her at peace, urged her to stay safe, be happy, and “stay you.”
In 2018, Perrette quit her job on “NCIS” after being on the show for 15 years. Several reports said the actress left the series after clashing with her co-star, Mark Harmon, as the pair allegedly had issues behind the scenes in 2016.
That year, Harmon reportedly brought his dog on set, and it bit a crew member who then needed 15 stitches. Proof of their fallout was how they never appeared together on screen when the actress’s final episode aired.
Perrette went to “NCIS” headquarters to say goodbye to her colleagues, but her co-star’s character only received a letter he read while she watched him from across the street.
In 2019, she revealed in a Twitter post that she’d never revise her role in the series. Perrette claimed she was “terrified of Harmon” and the possibility that he’d attack her. The star said she had nightmares about the possible incident and had found a new show that was safe and where she was happy.
