Prayers Are Needed… ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Says Daughter Has ‘Turned A Corner’ After 14th Surgery

Jase and Missy Robertson from “Duck Dynasty” are looking forward to Mia finishing her surgeries for her cleft lip and palate after her fourteenth procedure.

Their 18-year-old daughter had an operation last month and is currently recovering at home.

Since the birth of their daughter in 2004, the family has faced a long and difficult journey of taking her to the hospital for multiple surgeries.

This week, Jase Robertson shared an update on his daughter’s health on his podcast “Unashamed” with his father Phil and brother Alan.

The caring dad mentioned that she has made progress.

Jase responded, “Everything looks good, seems fine,” when asked about her breathing.

He informed the podcast audience that the surgery took a bit more time than anticipated, but she is now back home and recuperating. He expressed gratitude for their prayers for her and their family. She is truly a remarkable person!

Missy Robertson shared her concerns about the surgery on Instagram.

Missy wrote a message before her surgery on July 8, where she mentioned that people often ask her about the number of surgeries Mia has left. She always responds by saying, “We simply don’t have the answer.”

Mia Robertson shared a positive update on social media, expressing that she had reached the “finish line.”

She declared, “I hope this is the final time I’ll meet my doctors here! It has been a lengthy journey, but we are almost done.”

Mia Robertson started making her own choices after her thirteenth surgery in spring 2021. Missy Robertson, her mother, confesses that she is still adjusting to this change.

Missy Robertson mentioned that now that her daughter is 18, she is handling all the discussions and medical forms, which feels a bit odd. She also emphasized the importance of relying on God and accepting that she is not in control.

Missy Robertson, along with her husband, has three biological children and one adopted child. In an interview with The Christian Post, she expressed that they believe their family’s hardships due to their daughter’s illness have not been without purpose.

She said that when reflecting on the past, particularly the past few years, they can clearly identify the reasons behind Him permitting them to experience this situation and allowing Mia to face the pain and challenges in her life.

She mentioned that she desires to assist others. In my opinion, this shows not only her own greatness, but also the greatness of our God in foreseeing a child’s potential to impact people positively and draw them nearer to Him. I have no right to doubt that.

Mia Robertson created the Mia Moo Fund to make sure all kids are happy.

During pregnancy, cleft lip and palate occur when the lips and roof of the mouth do not fuse properly.

Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveals that approximately 1 in 1,600 babies in the US are born with a cleft lip and palate. Additionally, around 1 in 2,800 pregnancies lead to the birth of a baby with both a cleft lip and palate. In the United States, about 1 in 1,700 infants are born with a cleft palate but without a cleft lip.

In a previous interview, Missy Robertson stated that the Mia Moo Fund has two main purposes. Firstly, it aims to raise awareness about the journey of individuals with cleft lip and palate. Secondly, it provides financial assistance to parents and families residing in the United States for their medical needs.

Please share this post and send prayers to the family, wishing them a quick recovery!
