He killed his three boys execution style and wounded the mother. Now the bodycam footage from his arrest has been made public, and it will chill you to your bones.
Chad Doerman, an Ohio father, has been arrested and charged with aggravated murder for killing his three sons in a deliberate and premeditated manner. Prosecutors have stated that the boys’ execution was a carefully planned act of murder.
The suspect was apprehended after two 911 calls. The first call was from a woman who was screaming about her babies being shot. The second call was from a driver who saw a girl running down the street, claiming her father was harming everyone.
When first responders arrived at the scene, the boys were unresponsive. They had reportedly died at the scene.
Doerman confessed to the scheme and showed up in court on Friday facing three charges of aggravated murder. Prosecutors stated that Doerman admitted to planning and executing the killings of the victims over a period of several months.
He arranged his children in a row outside and used his gun to shoot them one by one. One of the kids attempted to run away, but Doerman caught him and brought him back to the yard to also shoot him. The children were 7, 4, and 3 years old.
The boys’ mother was found outside the home with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hand.
The killer, who was spotted sitting outside on a step, was apprehended by the police without any trouble. Recently, bodycam footage from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office was released, revealing him saying, “I’m not looking to harm anyone. I’m completely sober. I’ve never used drugs before.” He also reassured the deputies by saying, “I don’t want to hurt you.”
The mother of the boys, whose identity remains unknown, could be heard speaking in the background and asking, “Are they dead? What should I do?” She then cries out, “He has stolen my life, my life! They are so young!”
When requested to turn around and respond to their inquiries, he replies, “I won’t harm you. I’m not angry. I’m nothing,” and proceeds to caution them about his dog. Afterwards, he inquires if he can rise to his feet as he feels “a bit uneasy.”
As Doerman is led to the rear of the Sheriff’s car, he tells the deputy that his step-daughter went to the fire department and requests his wallet from his back pocket. The deputy responds harshly, saying, “Stay quiet. You can stay silent, so do it.”.
David Gast, chief prosecutor in Clermont County, spoke during the hearing.
The man caused unimaginable trauma to his family, community, law enforcement, first responders, and everyone else. There has been a full confession in this case, but we are still learning new details. The sheer horror of what we know is too much to comprehend. The father lined up his three young boys and shot them in his own home. The mother tried to protect them by grabbing the gun from the father.
The county set the highest bond ever at $20 million for his bail.
It is truly devastating and heart-wrenching that this tragedy resulted in the loss of three innocent lives. Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the mother, sister, and the entire family during this difficult time.
