Gary Sinise Announces His Son Mac Has Died Aged 33.

The actor Gary Sinise, who starred in Forrest Gump, announced the devastating news of his son’s death on the Gary Sinise Foundation website and his Instagram page. McCanna Anthony “Mac” Sinise, 33, lost his fight with cancer.

On August 8, 2018, Mac received a diagnosis of Chordoma, a rare form of cancer, just three months after his mother received a stage three breast cancer diagnosis.

Nevertheless, despite the fact that Mac’s mother Moira’s therapy was effective, his illness grew worse over time and eventually took away his mobility.

Gary expressed his immense grief for the loss of his loving son.

We are devastated and have been coping as best we can, just like any other family that has experienced such a loss. It is really tough for parents to lose a kid. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has experienced a comparable loss or who has lost a loved one. Everybody has encountered it in some capacity. I have met a great deal of the families of our fallen soldiers over the years. Heartbroken, the actor remarked, “It’s just damn hard and heartbreaking.”

“The five and a half years that our family spent fighting cancer proved to be increasingly difficult as time went on. We are inspired and moved by how he accomplished it, and even though our hearts hurt from missing him, we find solace in the knowledge that Mac is no longer in pain. He battled a cancer for which there is no treatment, but he never gave up.

A number of celebrities posted messages of support for Gary and his family on Instagram.

We truly apologize, Gary. Many people love you and your family very much, commented Angie Harmon. All of us are in prayer for you. I adore you so much.

Mac led a happy and purposeful life. He became an assistant manager of outreach and education for the Gary Sinise Foundation and continued to live out his love of music till the very end. As a drummer, he played with his father in the Lt. Dan Band.

Mac was paralyzed from the waist down after five spine surgeries following his diagnosis, yet he never gave up on his passion for music-making. Prior to his demise, he had finished recording the CD Resurrection & Revival.

Mac received his degree in songwriting and composition from the University of Southern California.

Gary said that the family is ensuring Mac’s album, Mac Sinise: Resurrection and Revival, is released and pressed on vinyl.

On January 5, Mac was buried.

We sincerely regret Gary Sinise’s passing. During this difficult time, our prayers and thoughts are with him and his family.
